Here is the weekly E-Newsletter with the news items on the Keystone Transit
Career Ladder Partnership initiative:
- Williamsport : The final Keystone/PennTRAIN
course for the spring of 2004 will be held at the Williamsport
Bureau of Transportation on June 7-10, 2004. The transit related course
is "Advance Electrical - Dinex Systems" and is being taught by the
Technical Education Service.
- Silver Springs , Md. : The
webmaster for the Keystone Transit Career Ladder Partnership, Xinge Wang
from the Community Transportation Development Center, married
Zhen Zhang this past Saturday in a beautiful ceremony at the Chinese Christian
Church of Greater Washington DC. Xinge's parents, who came from China
for the wedding, were in attendance. Xinge's two website that she oversees
are www.transportcenter.org and www.keystonetransit.org
- Statewide: All Keystone Venders should note that
if we are late in submitting our final invoice for the Keystone Transit
Career Ladder Partnership, we risk losing the final payment. In order for
the Partnership to submit its invoice on time, we need to receive all invoices
from everyone doing business with us on time. All invoices for the fiscal
year must be received by me no later than July 15, 2004 . As spelled out
in all Memorandums of Agreement, the Partnership cannot guarantee payment
on any invoice we receive later than July 15, 2004 . If you have any questions
on this policy or on your specific invoices, please contact Dr. Garraty.
- Pittsburgh : Due to course complications,
the Pittsburgh portion of the Keystone Transit Career ladder Partnership
decided to cancel the Electricity course that was to be conducted by the
Community College of Allegheny College. The other Keystone sponsored courses
in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Plumbing, A/C Compressor and Railway Track Course
are still scheduled.
- Salt Lake City , Utah : Management
representatives from the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and labor representatives
from ATU Local #382 - Salt Lake City - will be meeting with Keystone Transit
Career Ladder Partnership representatives in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia
in July, 2004. UTA and ATU # Local 382 are working with the Community Transportation
Development Center in considering a Keystone-type training program and
are coming to Pennsylvania to tour the Keystone sites.
