Here is the weekly E-Newsletter with the news items on the Keystone Transit
Career Ladder Partnership initiative:
- York
: Ralph Wilder,
former Maintenance Manager at rabbittransit in York, Pennsylvania has
moved on to Tallahassee, Florida. The transit authority is now looking
for a new Maintenance Manager. Please find information on the

- State College : The Advanced Electrical
- Allen Bradley Systems Course opened yesterday at the Centre County Transportation
Authority in State College. The instructor is from the Technical Education
Service. Previous evaluations by students for this instructor have been
excellent.
- Altoona : The fiscal/budgetary subcommittee
from the PA Transit Maintenance L/M Workgroup will be meeting in Altoona
next Thursday, May 19, 2004 to discuss the FY 2004-2005 budget. Members
of the subcommittee include Eric Wolf, John Keller, Kevin Barrett, Bob
Williams, John Buckner and Stu Bass.
- Pittsburgh : Completing touches
are being made to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Community College
of Allegheny County for the courses in Pittsburgh to meet the immediate
training needs as identified by the labor/management workgroups.
- New York City : The Keystone Transit
Partnership Project Coordinator will be making a presentation on the program
on May 20, 2004 at the Working for America Institute training conference
for WIB labor representatives, labor program operators and other union
leaders interested in workforce development policy. The Institute is being
funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration
(ETA) to provide this training and technical assistance to unions, particularly
focusing on assisting the labor representatives who serve on state and
local Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs).
- Denver, Colorado : Bob
Colton, Maintenance Manager at the Centre County Transpiration Authority
(CATA) in State College, made a presentation on Keystone/PennTRAIN at
the APTA Bus and Paratransit Conference in Denver Colorado last week.
- Philadelphia : Tomorrow a meeting
will be held at SEPTA's headquarters to discuss the Keystone related OJT/Mentoring
grant that is scheduled to be received from the Philadelphia Workforce
Development Corporation.
