Here are some updates on what's happening in the Keystone Partnership Program across the Commonwealth:

  • Pittsburgh : The five labor-management Workgroups (Automotive/Electronics; Power and Signals; Car Rail Maintenance; Way; Building and Electrical) are meeting with EDSI consultants this week to continue the work on job task analysis.
  • Harrisburg : Last week, for the first time, trainers from SEPTA provided training to maintenance mechanics from five (5) other properties across the state in Advance HVAC at the facilities of the Capital Area Transit. Thank you SEPTA/TWU #234 for developing the Keystone course and taking it on the road.
  • Philadelphia : On Wednesday, January 27, 2004 representatives from TWU Local #234 and SEPTA are jointly touring facilities of the Philadelphia School District with the intention of creating cooperative transit training ventures.
  • Aliquippa : On February 10-12, 2004, training will be conducted on HVAC Refrigeration Theory by Doug Greenwood. Class positions are still open. Call Cindy Conaway at 800-847-0333 to register.
  • Philadelphia : On February 11, 2003 graduating ceremonies for the first class of the Keystone sponsored Technical Preparation Class will be conducted at the offices of 1199C, 100 South Broad Street, 10th Floor, Philadelphia. Contact Stu Bass for details (215) 732-7476 x 21.
  • Pittsburgh : The next meeting of the Statewide Labor-Management Transit Maintenance Workgroup will be conducted in Pittsburgh at a date to be arranged in coordination with the public "kick-off" of the Port Authority/ATU Local #85 Keystone effort.
  • Philadelphia : At the Philadelphia Policy Steering Committee meeting on January 13, 2004, Keystone staff reported that 501 individuals were trained during the first six months of this fiscal year.
